Poo Poo Head

Wesley has finally been contaminated. He has always been so cute and funny, but he has been introduced to "potty" humor. I think he actually understands what he says too. His favorite is "poo poo head" but he also likes "pee pee head" "poo poo house" "pee pee butt" and so forth. I think you get the idea. I'm still trying to figure out why kids find "potty humor" so funny. I asked Spencer and Kia this morning why it's so funny to say or hear those words. They couldn't really answer me. I'm trying the "ignore it" tactic and we'll see what happens. I have put Wesley in time out before though, because he has called me "poo poo head" to my face when he was angry with me. Ahh, how fast they grow up.

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school. I was really excited and nervous at the same time. Matt offered to give me a blessing and I gladly accepted. That helped a lot to ease my anxiety so I could focus on having a good time. There are 8 people starting the night class including myself. Our teacher is older in years but you would never know it by her personality. She's mature but a really fun lady. For example, last night her cell phone rang during class (cell phones are not permitted) and the penalty for anyone who brings their cell phone is to hula hoop in front of the whole class. She was such a good sport.
I'm glad I took the opportunity to go to school right now. I'm having a good time and I hope it only gets better.

Filipe and Sione from the Biggest Loser

Before pic of Sione and Filipe when they started on the Biggest Loser.

After pic of Filipe. He was voted of last week.

This morning I went to the gym and on my way out I passed by Sione and Filipe from the Biggest Loser. I had a million things I could say going through my mind at that moment. I was so nervous and my heart was pounding. You would think I could say hi, how are ya, you look good, you're an inspiration, good luck, or something like that right? No, I said "heeeey" and just kept walking.  I missed such a great opportunity to talk to these guys, but at least I can say I've seen them in person. They look great and I'm amazed by their perservierance, strength and courage.  I just wish I could have said that to their faces.  Oh well, maybe there is a next time.

I am so grateful there is one day a year when we recognize our earth and how important it is, but I believe that we should celebrate earthday everyday. We live everyday, so why not do what we can everyday to help our earth and all it's inhabitants? Our earth is vital to our existence! We need to protect it, and now more than ever. When we protect our earth, we protect ourselves, our children and all the billions of life forms therein. Besides the gas guzzler we drive, we try to do our part to preserve the world.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, conserve water, conserve energy, plant a tree! Love the world you live in and show it!

Hey everyone, Matt here

Howdy everyone who reads our family blog, this is Matt. My poor wife is sick in bed with allergies/cold gombu, and I thought I would try posting something. I'm find that I am enjoying the unemployed life. I get to spend tons of tyme everyday with my kids and my wife. Besides not having any money I couldn't ask for anything more. I love tinkering around the house on different projects. I've built a shed for some outside storage. It has really helped clean up the yard and driveway. I am currently planting a garden. Yesterday Kia helped me plant pumpkins. I have enjoyed getting back into Art this year. I've completed several paintings and even entered one in the school show and won a ribbon. I decided not to go back to school, I'm just not feeling it. I had some luck rounding up small jobs here and there doing work for people. I put in a sprinkler system last week up in Cedar and this week a neighbor down the street wants me to build him a shed. So I do feel fortunate to have some work. It pays the bills and I cant ask for more. My wife is awesome, she does her part too. I appreciate her very much and I probably don't show it like I should. Anyways, thanks for reading.

So much to be grateful for

Yesterday our faith was put to the ultimate test. My worst fear had come true, Kia was missing. She had been gone for about 15 minutes before we realized she was gone. Matt had left to pick up Spencer from school. Kia waned to go, but he had already left so I told her to stay with me. She wanted to go ride her bike and play with a friend across the street. I told her it was ok. Matt came back from picking up Spencer and wanted to know where Kia was. I told him she was outside with her friend. He replied with "no she's not." I wasn't really worried until we had checked all around our house and some friends houses. By then, we had the whole neighborhood looking for her. It's amazing how many people were even home and on top of that, willing to look for her. At that point, all we could think to do was pray. We pleaded with our Father in Heaven to help us know what to do, to keep her safe and return her to us. We called the police after about 45 minutes to notify them after we had done all we thought we could do. While Matt was on the phone with the Police, my friend called and said she had Kia. She found her at the school where we wait for Spencer to come out. Kia had walked over to the school looking for Daddy and Spencer. She knew exactly what she was doing, where she was going, and who she was looking for. She was clueless to the fact that we believed she was missing. We prayed to God that we would find her and that she would be ok. I'm so grateful that she was returned to us unharmed. This could have been a much worse situation. All the worst scenarios played through my mind. I felt so powerless and guilty for allowing this to happen to our family. I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if anything had happened to her.

Today Spencer lost another tooth! He is such a big guy. I can't believe how fast my children are growing up. One minute I'm holding them in my arms as an infant and the next minute they are walking and talking. Time goes by so fast sometimes I think I'll miss something just by blinking my eyes.

I am so grateful for my husband and I want him to now how proud of him I am. He has worked so hard to prove himself to me. I have so many insecurities that it's hard to see how far he's come, but I hope he knows how much I love him. Happy Anniversary!
